As part of Doors Open Week in Glasgow, the Sikh Gurdwara in Pollokshields invited Staff to take part in Chapati Making Workshops.
A big surprise when we arrived on the first day – the sessions were to be led by Mrs Manjit Jheeta, retired Head of Biology, and a great friend of the School.
Staff from both Kingarth Street and Beaton Road took up this kind invitation. After putting on our scarves and aprons, we set to work kneading and rolling dough, then flipping and firing our Chapatis.
We enjoyed a tour of the building, followed by a vegetarian meal. Everyone took their own Chapatis home.
Our thanks to Sukhcharan Kaur, and Manjit Jheeta, for welcoming us so warmly, and arranging two very memorable workshops.
