Six of the school’s top music pupils took part in a Memorial Concert, held on Sunday, October 2 in St Margaret’s Episcopal Church.
Proceeds from the event, in memory of the church’s former Director of Music Nimmo Davidson, who was also a long-standing member of Hutchesons’ Choral Society, went to The Ciaran Pryce Appeal and Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In a programme shared with Paisley Philharmonic Choir, the school’s String Quartet - Florence Sharkey, Annie Gould, Mark Fisher and Verity MacInnes - performed JC Bach’s String Quartet in C. Solo performances were given by Florence Sharkey (violin), Max Rodney (percussion), Verity MacInnes (cello) and Olivia McCann (flute), accompanied by Director of Music Performance Ken Walton.
Mr Walton said: “We were delighted to have been invited to participate in such a worthwhile and meaningful event. It was a wonderful public experience for our young musicians, who excelled themselves through their confident musicianship and sheer professionalism.”
