Primary four pupils visited Stirling Castle at the end of last term - to mark the end of their 'Castles and The Scottish Wars of Independence' topic.
Three primary four classes enjoyed a day out of school to learn about the history of the castle. On arrival the children were greeted by Sir William Oliphant, a knight from the Middle Ages.
He took them on a tour around the castle and then marched them down to the 'execution' (education) room where he showed the children a variety of weapons particular to the time of the Scottish Wars.
All three classes had a wonderful day which was of course, rounded off with a trip to the gift shop.
