The primary school’s Eco Committee organised a Day of Dance to show pupils how dance is an important factor in their health and wellbeing.
The day began with the whole school taking part in a 5 a-day dance warm up at assembly led by Mrs Ritchie and P2’s Felix Taylor.
Then Pamela Johnston, who is a qualified dance teacher and depute manager of the After School Club, choreographed three dances – one for the Primary 1 and 2 classes, another for the P3, P4 and P5 classes and a third for the P6 and P7 classes. The Eco Captains helped her select the music!
Each group (and their teachers) were put through their paces by Pamela in a very energetic workout before all the pupils came back together at the end of the day to show off their routine to one another.
"It was so uptown and funky!" exclaimed Murray Waugh in P3.
A huge thanks goes to Pamela for all her hard work and energy. Hopefully everyone will appreciate that dance is a great way of staying fit and having fun!
