Congratulations to Farwah Rushd (S3) and Riya Banerjee (S4), who competed in the second heat of the Rotary Club of Glasgow’s annual Schools Public Speaking Competition at Jordanhill School.
Farwah tackled the complex topic of ‘Living with social media’ and explored the many benefits and concerns the modern development brings.
Riya chose to speak on ‘What has influenced your life so far’ by describing how the ‘veil of ignorance’ was lifted from her eyes when she moved to India.
Both pupils spoke powerfully and impressed the judges with both their insightful content and their engaging delivery.
The standards were exceptionally high on the day and Farwah won a place as a finalist. She will join Owen Gould (S2), and compete on November 21 at Hutchesons'.
Very well done to both girls for their excellent performances!
