The 1957 Group is a fundraising committee for Hutchesons' Grammar School, comprising parents, former parents, members of staff and FPs. Our fundraising events offer many opportunities for all parents to socialise over a cup of tea or glass of wine.
Annual events include a Winter Fair in November, a ceilidh early in the year and a second-hand uniform exchange in June. The Group also runs the second-hand uniform shop throughout the year and organises events and refreshments for the Primary Sports Day.
Quiz Nights held at Beaton Road in September 2008 and 2009 attracted teams of parents and staff. Funds raised from the highly successful evening went towards the refurbishment of the stage at Kingarth Street.
In recent years, funds have purchased the organ in the assembly hall, playground equipment, radio microphones, bleacher seating in the Fotheringay Centre and the full refurbishment of the all-weather tennis courts at Beaton Road. All pupils at Hutchesons' benefit from the Group's fundraising efforts at some stage during their school career.
