Community Projects and Partnerships

Supporting the local community is part of the ethos at Hutchesons' Grammar School.

Donation to Bangladesh Appeal with Charan Gil

We want to play our part in helping the lives of others. Through our involvement with, for example, the Mark Scott Foundation, Lambhill Court, YCSA and the St Rollox Asylum Seekers' Centre, not to mention the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, we hope to offer practical help, and most importantly give of our time. We are launching a new staff-pupil forum, the Community Action Group, which will coordinate our community service programme.

The residents really enjoyed listening to the pipers. Thank you very much for sharing our 12th birthday.

Podcast for Local Community Heritage Trail

We look forward to building a relationship with Battlefield, Langside and Strathbungo Community Council. Out goal is to work with them to identify and support local environmental improvements. We have already started; S2 pupils made a podcast of the Langside Heritage Trail, to complement the Community Council's guidebook.

The class worked collaboratively at each stage of the process. I was very impressed with the pupils’ ability to see the project through to the end.
