Eco Schools at Kingarth Street

The Primary School at Kingarth Street participates in the international Eco Schools programme which aims to encourage schools to become more environmentally friendly.  Through the hard work of the Eco Schools committee (below) we have so far attained Bronze and Silver awards and are heading towards the prestigious Green Flag.

Eco committeeEco Schools has been running in Kingarth Street since 2006 and in that time we have established a committee, decided on an Eco Code and held two Green Days to raise money for recycling bins and trays.

The topics we are focusing on at the moment are Litter, Recycling, Healthy Eating, The Playground and Biodiversity. We are currently liaising with Cuthbertson Street school about a joint venture to improve the transport situation outside of our schools.
