Going for Gold Ball It was a night to remember! Friends and former pupils of Hutchesons' danced the night away and raised £30,000 at the Going for Gold Ball on 28 March. Bill McFarlan and Carol Smillie hosted the glittering occasion.

The 1641 Society 2009 The 1641 Society Lunch, on 5 June, was a gesture of appreciation to former pupils and friends of Hutchesons' who have recognised the School in their estate planning.
The Alix Jamieson Stadium Mrs Alix Stevenson, nee Jamieson (C1960) graciously lent her name to the new stadium and unveiled the stone on 6 November before starting a Hockey match and House Relays. Alix represented Great Britain as a long jumper in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
