Primary Pastoral Care

At Hutchesons' we aim to ensure that children feel safe and secure, to provide a relaxed, welcoming open-door policy for parents and to encourage them to express concerns at any time.

Playground games 1

Buddies - P6 and P7 pupils look out for younger children during breaktimes.

Monitors - Upper primary children are allocated to infant classes.

Book Week - Older children visit the infant classes for paired reading and listening to and telling stories

Friendly advice - Displayed in all classrooms

A House system - Each of the four houses has a sense of family and older children are encouraged to talk and play with younger ones during 'House Days' and at House assemblies.

For parents, the Primary School has an Open-Door policy, which encourages parents to raise concerns, however minor, with easy access to staff and the hope of a speedy resolution.
