Hutchesons' After-School Club

Hutchesons' After-School Club, based at the Primary School at Kingarth Street, is open every day during the school term, except on staff in-service days, Entrance Test day (January) and Founders' Day (March), and is open to all pupils. The club has experienced staff who are committed to an ongoing training programme in SVQ Playwork and other appropriate qualifications.

My favourite food is banana bread and I like playing Play Your Cards Right.

I love fresh fruit kebabs with chocolate and I enjoy Family Fortunes and netball. More netball, please!

Half-Days at Hutchesons'
The After School Club has implemented fun outings for the last day of each term, when the school days ends at 12 noon. They have visited Purves Puppets in Biggar, been 10-pin bowling, to the movies, tobogganing at XScape and to the theatre for the pantomime at Christmas -  "Oh yes we did"!

Our aim at Hutchesons' After School Club is to offer to all pupils:

  • A happy, supportive, welcoming and secure environment and an atmosphere of trust, openness and fun;
  • A range of activities that includes sports, arts and crafts, drama, dance and play; and

  • A quiet area for reflection and reading, and a space for homework to be completed (although not checked) under supervision.I liked knitting a purse and playing in the Wendy House
