Primary Art and Craft
From Primary 1, all pupils visit the original art studios at Kingarth Street and study art with specialist teachers. In collaboration with class teachers, the art staff prepare a curriculum which supports and extends classroom work, as pupils learn a variety of techniques as they progress through the school.
From Primary 4, pupils have specialist craft tuition, learning skills which should prove useful to them throughout their lives!
The culmination of the art and craft year is the Art and Music evening in June, during which the results of the session are displayed for parents and friends.
Art is my favourite subject in school and has been since P1. I enjoy it because I really like to draw and create things out of clay. – Jonathan M
We are extended in art and craft, learning better drawing and modelling tactics in the former and making a fabulous Highland cow in the latter - Emily
When my dogs break my fluffy toys, I can just stitch them back together, thanks to Craft.
