Studying the Victorian era is part of the curriculum in Primary 6 and pupils enjoy trips to Culross and New Lanark, as well as spending time at school immersed in the life of a Victorian child.
After learning a number of specially written songs, staff from Scottish Opera produce an 'opera in a day' with the pupils of Primary 6.
P6 pupils bring their bikes to school during the Summer Term for eight weeks of Cycling Proficiency. The lessons end with a trip for the whole year to Millport and a bike ride around Great Cumbrae.
A much-loved fixture in the P6 calendar is the day the pupils dress as pirates and work with A Level Maths pupils at Beaton Road to solve a series of dastardly mathematical puzzles!
