In Hutchesons' Primary School we believe that children need good nutrition for the very best start in life. Diet in childhood plays an essential role in growth, development, well-being and educational performance.
The Primary lunchroom is where pupils and many members of staff congregate at lunchtime. P1 and P2 pupils may have a two-course meal (from the October break for P1 pupils) supervised by a classroom assistant and payable on a termly basis. Pupils from P3 to P7 may buy lunch on a daily basis or termly in advance.
Menus operate on a three-week cycle.
We have recently been awarded the Consumer Focus Scotland, Healthyliving Award for providing healthy food and supporting the children to make healthy choices.
Our lunches are provided in a self-service restaurant that offers freshly prepared, healthy choices daily. Staff and pupils choose from range of traditional meals, vegetarian options, pasta, salads, sandwiches or snack foods.
