Key texts in a particular medium are examined and evaluated, applying the six key aspects of Media Studies - Categories, Language, Narrative, Representation, Audience and Institution - to understand the audiences being addressed, the ideologies at play and the means by which such ideas are conveyed. This understanding is further combined with pupils' own creative flair, exploiting the technology available within the school to produce highly professional work in print, electronic and audio-visual media.
Media Studies can be taken as a Higher course in S6.
