• Founders' Day 2009
  Founders' Day, in Glasgow Cathedral on 19 March, commemorated the 368th anniversary of the founding of Hutchesons' and the invited speaker was Prof Fiona Gilbert (C1974), Chair of Radiology at the University of Aberdeen.
• Geography Trip to Iceland 2008
  Having studied Glaciation and Coastal Landscapes, S3 pupils witnessed the real thing on a field trip to Iceland.

• Partnership with School in India
  Two Hutchesons' teachers visited the Dr. NSAM English Medium High School in Nitte, near Mangalore, India in April 2009. The school partnership is sponsored by the British Council.
• Photography Competition 2008
  Each Autumn term, pupils from S1 to S6 are invited to submit their photographs to a panel of professional judges.
• Prizegiving 2009
  The 2009 Prizegiving at Hutchesons' took place on 25 June at Beaton Road. The address was delivered by the Very Revd Joh D Miller BA BD DD.
• Talking Points: 2009-2010
  Talking Points is a Friday morning lecture series for S6 pupils and staff. Speakers are drawn from a wide variety of fields, including politics, law, science, literature, business, the arts and entertainment.
• Window on Russia
  A conference arranged with The European Atlantic Movement, 'Window on Russia' stimulated pupils' awarenessof this major world power.
