Australians in the Snow at Hutchie!

Australian Exchange 2010As temperatures back home climbed into the 30s, Alan Humphreys, Vice Principal of Goulburn Valley Grammar School, Shepparton, in Victoria, Australia, might have been forgiven for feeling homesick as he and his wife Judy paid a visit to Hutchesons' on a cold, snowy day that saw most other Glasgow schools close.

Alan oversees the GVGS international programme and was visiting his two exchange pupils, Emily Thomson and Emily Millar, who are spending five weeks at Hutchesons'. The girls are having "a fantastic time," they say, experiencing life in Scotland, attending lessons and making friends with many in our school community. Alan and Judy had a guided tour of the school and particularly enjoyed the delights of the Senior Dance practice! Every year, two pupils from Hutchesons spend the summer at GVGS with a reciprocal visit by the Australians to Glasgow in the Christmas term.
