The P1 classes were recently visited by Mrs Roy, a dentist, as well as mum of Sophia in P1G. She taught the children how to take good care of their teeth, showing them correct brushing and playing games that helped the children to choose healthy snack options that were lower in sugar.
Primary one recently enjoyed a visit to Queen's Park. We have been learning about the changing seasons and have been looking out for signs of autumn. We had lots of fun looking for conkers, acorns, colourful leaves and squirrels. We collected interesting things to look at more closely in the classroom. We even found a storm damaged tree just like Percy did in the story, 'After the Storm'.
After reading 'Elmer' by David McKee, primary one decided to have an 'Elmer Day' parade. We learned about colours and patterns but most importantly we learned that being different is a good thing. We dressed up in our most colourful clothes, decorated elephant masks and paraded through the hall just like the elephants in the story. Mrs Stevenson wrote some special songs for us to sing. We had great fun!
