Senior Hutchesons' Girls are Scottish Indoor Champions!
Congratulations to our Senior Girls Indoor Hockey team who won the Scottish Schools Championship in Perth on Saturday 15 January. The team defeated Mary Erskine School 8-2 in the final.
The Hutchesons' Senior Girls are now indoor and outdoor Scottish Schools champions.
The pupils report: on Saturday 15 January 2011, the Hutchesons' Senior Girls Indoor Hockey Team, having already won the District Trophy, headed off to the Scottish Under 18 Finals in Perth. With little training and expectations, our aim for the day was to just go out enjoy ourselves and try and play some good hockey. Our confidence grew through the group stages and soon we found ourselves in the semi-final against Kelso High School.
After a fierce fought competition we made it to the final where we faced Mary Erskine. Fatigue was starting to set in but this was where all our stamina and tactics sessions paid off as we romped to an 8-2 victory. We were all absolutely thrilled and delighted and a big thank you goes to our coach Miss Simpson and manager Mrs Lang for all their support.
