Indian Visitors are touched by Scottish Welcome

Awesome. Despite the cold weather, we were touched by the warm hearts of Scottish people!

Visitors from NitteJust before the mid-term break, four pupils and two teachers visited Hutchesons' from our partner school, Dr NSAM English Medium High School in Nitte, in southern India. Pupils Ashwini, Parvathi, Adithya and Manish and teachers Veda (Maths) and Anil (Chemistry) had not left India before and spent the week in and around Hutchesons', including accompanying Hutchesons' pupils in the classroom. One of the visiting pupils took part in the Hutchesons' Talent Show and they also taught yoga!

Visitors from Nitte

Back in October, pupils at Hutchesons' had sent crackers filled with messages and gifts to Nitte. In return, the four pupils and staff brought us their crackers, complete with messages and gifts. "It was a lovely way to make friends," says Head of Biology, Manjit Jheeta, "and many of our Hutchie pupils plan to make contact via email."

The group visited Pollok Park, the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove, a whisky distillery and the City Chambers. Mrs Jheeta: "We also took them to Crieff and Stirling, where they had their first experience of touching snow and indulging in a snowball fight!"

We couldn't believe the wonderful facilities at Hutchie.

Hutchie is  a teacher's dream come true!
