S3 Drama Competition

S3 Drama Competition 2011S3 pupils at Hutchesons' presented a wide range of dramatic excerpts, from Shakespeare to Abbott and Costello, to a full house of parents and friends on 3 March. The pieces were the result of a two-month collaboration between S3 pupils and senior Drama pupils, who are interested in both performance and direction. The three judges were Shaaron Graham, David Lee-Michael and Edward Corrie (C2001).

Best Overall Individual Performance: Kirsty Quail

Monologue: Holly Beth Goulay ('The Inquest', by G L Horton)

Duologue: Edward Campbell & Aiden Bushnell ('Beekeeping', by Rowan Atkinson & John Cleese)

Group: Kirsty Quail, Heather Currie, Ashley Neilson, Nikki Taylor ('Cinderella', by Roald Dahl)

Judges 

Shaaron Graham is Principal and Artistic Director of Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts. She is also responsible for directing the Annual Agents Showcase at the Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly, London, which has become an established and respected event on the industry calendar.

David Lee-Michael is the Acting and Performance course director at Langside College, Glasgow. He is the founder and artistic director of XLC Theatre Company and  has worked extensively throughout the UK as an actor and director. He is currently directing at the Citizen's Theatre.

Edward Corrie (C2001) graduated from the RSAMD in 2008. He has just finished filming 'Case Histories', a new six-part drama for BBC One, as series regular DC Marcus Stewart. Other credits include 'Taggart' and 'Being Victor' and multiple theatre credits.
