Pupils enjoy visit from up-and-coming Band

The Winter TraditionStandard Grade Music pupils had a treat last week when up-and-coming band The Winter Tradition visited Hutchesons' on to give them an exclusive performance after school.

"Their material was very refined, melodic and commercially based," said Music teacher Graeme Scott, "with influences ranging from Biffy Clyro to Blink 182 mentioned by the band members. The band were very professional in their delivery of the workshop and their performance was fantastic. I'm sure they inspired our pupils, both those who are already in bands and those who are not, to give the music world a try."

The Winter TraditionMembers of the band answered questions about songwriting techniques, sound engineering and recording, promoting their material in the modern recording industry, where digital distribution is prominent and playing live gigs.
