Meeting the Mathematical Challenge

UK Maths Challenge 2011For the second year running, four pupils from Hutchesons' won the regional final of the Team Maths Challenge run by the UK Mathematical Trust in March. They go on to compete for the UKMT Team Maths Challenge trophy at the Royal Horticultural Halls, London, on 20 June this year.

Jack Henderson and Sreya Maddineni, both in S1, and S2 pupils Vikram Rana and Elaine Duncan, won the Glasgow Regional Final held at the University of the West of Scotland after beating the opposition in a series of individual and team mathematical challenges.

Maths teacher Sharon Frisher, who accompanied them to the competition, says she is 'delighted' by their effort and looks forward to working with the team in London.
