Two Former Pupils of Hutchesons' were elected as Members of the Scottish Parliament in the elections on 5 May.
Humza Yousaf (C2003) was elected as an SNP Member following his inclusion on the Glasgow List.
John Mason (C1975), formerly MP for Glasgow East, was elected as SNP MSP for Shettleson.
Three S6 pupils were invited to take part in a live radio debate hosted by BBC Radio Scotland on Friday 6 May, as the last of the election results rolled in. Rachel Donnachie, Lloyd Lombardi and Jamie Blackwood joined politicians, Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament, and representatives from the arts, medical and sporting communities.
Two FPs were also elected as MPs in the 2010 elections. Iain Stewart (C1990) is Conservative MP for Milton Keynes South and Anas Sarwar (C1991) is Labour MP for Glasgow Central.
