The Pirates of Penzance

Eve Brown [P7] reports on the 2011 P7 Show.

Pirates of PenzanceOn Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 March, Primary Seven performed their show The Pirates of Penzance. They had been practising for many weeks and it was all down to these two performances. They were amazing.

The only one without a smile was the unloved character Ruth, played by Emily Smith. Well, next time she'll think twice before tricking a handsome man.

Pirates of PenzanceThere were many stars of the show. The two love-birds were Sophie Johnston as the Beautiful Mabel and Luke Macias as the handsome Frederic. These two definitely had a little spark between them. The two comedians of the nights were Jodie Knight as Pirate King and Shiraz Shafi as the Major General. The combination of the General's child-like attitude and the King's clumsy footing gave everyone a smile on their faces. The only one without a smile was the unloved character Ruth, played by Emily Smith. Well, next time she'll think twice before tricking a handsome man.

Pirates of PenzanceEveryone was a part of the show. The chorus sang their hearts out, the stage crew made all the scenery and props, and the main cast worked so hard to make this a great show. Also working just as hard were all the understudies. They had to learn double the amount that most of the cast had to learn, Also, at the very start of the rehearsals they had to design the tickets for the show. The winners were Eve Brown and Isa Sheik.

Now, there would be no show if there were no teachers. They were all amazing at choreographing the whole show and helping us get our costumes exactly right in every way. All of Primary Seven are very proud, since they are the first year ever to have a better second night. I am sure that they will remember it for the rest of their lives.

Well done, Primary Seven!
