An overcast start to the day did nothing to dampen the spirits of the pupils, friends and families who attended the 2010-2011 prizegiving session at Hutchesons’ on Thursday. Chairman David Dobson and Rector Dr Ken Greig both acknowledged the excellent standard achieved during the past academic year and Morven Bremner, who received Dux in Music, performed the Gershwin classic Summertime. The prizegiving address was given by Professor Mark Poustie, Head of Law at the University of Strathclyde, who commented on the importance of destination choices for those considering higher education and the fine tradition of law in Scotland. As the afternoon approached the sunshine made a welcome appearance providing a fitting tribute to the bright futures and commitment of all the prizewinners.
