Fourteen former Hutchesons’ pupils braved stormy weather and high winds to take part in the annual Ladies Golf outing on the 6th of September.
Organiser Sallie Harkness, née Moodie (C1956), praised their commitment saying:
“It's a tribute to the golfers that they actually went out and played - some managed sixteen holes, others twelve, and some nine only, so the trophy was played over the first nine holes. The 2011 winner was Mrs Evi Park (née Murphy) class of 1958, (pictured with her trophy above.)”
The bad weather did not dampen the spirits of the ladies who enjoyed visiting Strathaven Golf Club commenting on the beautiful golf course and excellent clubhouse facilities. As a respite from the heavy rain they enjoyed a soup and sandwich lunch over which there was lively chat and many reminiscences of days at school.
The 2012 outing has been booked for a return visit to Strathaven on Tuesday 11th September.
