Sunday the 4th September was a day of sunshine and smiles as pupils from Hutchesons’ took to the streets in support of the 2011 Great Scottish Run, saving an extra cheer for all those running to raise funds for Action for Children.
A record 22,542 people took part in the 10k and half marathon races this year and Senior pupils, accompanied by a giant kilted inflatable and a fantastic bagpipe playing caterpillar, gave up their free time to entertain and inspire the runners, joggers and walkers who made the event such a memorable day.
Lisa Montford, Area Fundraiser for Action for Children was delighted with the response saying:
"Hutchesons’ pupils made a fantastic impression and really helped to raise awareness of Action for Children, they provided a rousing atmosphere for our runners! It really made everyone involved feel special."
