Teaching simple emergency skills to save lives

Heartstart Team 2011

The new session brings a fresh team of willing volunteers from S6 to help deliver the Heartstart Programme to the pupils at Kingarth St.

British Heart FoundationOur Heartstart initiative, in partnership with the British Heart Foundation, aims to teach basic emergency skills – simple actions that can save lives.

Primary 2 have already had their first lesson on ‘How to look after the Conscious Casualty’ equipping them with the skills to seek help whilst keeping themselves safe.

The team will work through the school with the help of Mrs Phillips (Matron), Mrs Smart & Mrs Clark, teaching all pupils from P2 to P7 skills to deal with emergency first aid situations.
