Hutchesons' tennis talent helps Scotland to victory
Young Hutchesons’ tennis star George Baird (S1) helped Scotland to victory at the Home Nations Championships earlier this September.
The championships were held at the Lansdown Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin and the Scottish Team faced fierce competition from Ireland and Wales, however due to a magnificent effort the Team won 43 out of 48 matches played, including winning all age group competitions.
John A.E. Stevenson, of Tennis Scotland said of the team:
You were all a great credit to your country both on and off court. I hope that you had a great experience. As the Tennis Ireland President said in her speech “it is a great honour to represent your country in a sport that you enjoy playing”. I hope that you will have many more opportunities to play for Scotland in the future.
