School Governor honoured with CBE

Brian Williams CBEThe school is delighted to share the news that Her Majesty The Queen presented Professor Brian Williams, a Hutchesons’ Governor, with a CBE for services to medicine and health care at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 12 October.

The CBE was awarded in recognition of his 40 years of his fulltime clinical practice in the NHS as a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician.

Professor Williams has also held offices as President of the British and European Geriatric Medicine Societies, was President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Chairman of the Board of St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.

Professor Williams was delighted to be honoured and was supported at the event by his wife, Martha, and his two married daughters, Jenny and Linzie, both former pupils of the school.
