Six pupils shine in Glasgow Art Awards

Alistair Ireland Gold Medal at Museums' Art ContestSix pupils have been honoured in the 2011 Glasgow Museums' Annual Art Competition for Young People, which has been established since 1904 and is supported by the Friends of Glasgow Museums.

Alistair Ireland (P7) received a gold medal and both Brianna Matheson (P7) and Jan King (P7) won silver medals.

The lucky winners attended the award ceremony, which was held at The Burrell on 6 October. This is a fantastic achievement as over 3,000 Brianna Matheson Silver Medal at Museums' Art Contestchildren sent in entries and
only 55 medals were awarded.

Mrs Toner, Arts Teacher at Kingarth Street was delighted with the children’s success saying:

The pupils had an exciting evening watching everyone collect their prizes from the very distinguished judges. Jan King Silver Medal at Museums' Art Contest.jpg

Robyn Alexander (P6) and
