Hutchesons' riders made a great effort despite the weather

RidersDespite the horrific  weather conditions on Sunday, Hutchesons’ showjumping team competed at Gleneagles Equestrian Centre.

In the Intermediate class, 90cms (18 yrs and under) - Rhona McCarte (S3), Ava Meiklejohn (S2), Elinor Grant (S3) and Rachael-Ann Clark (S2) competed and were unlucky to be just out of the placings!

In the Open class, 1metre (25 years and under) - Lauren McWade (S3), Ava Meiklejohn (S2), Elinor Grant (S3) and Rachael-Ann Clark (S2) competed and the team came third!  They all rode really well and were pipped into third place by only 0.4 of a second!

Teacher Mrs Clarke (and Chef d’equipe) was delighted with the determined pupils saying:

They all rode brilliantly! Very gutsy riders.  Hutchesons’ Grammar School is very proud of them.

Mrs Clarke went on to offer a huge thanks to all of the parents who drove the horses and ponies to the event, and also to Eileen Denholm - for providing team talks and practice jumps!
