Jennifer Gann in S6 took part in a 'Miniature Portrait Workshop' at Kelvingrove on Sunday 15th January and worked with a local artist Jim Dick. Photos from the Victorian era were used as a source of inspiration to experiment with painting using oil and arcrylic.
I learnt new techniques of working with oil paints and also working on a very small scale. I intend to pursue the theme of portraiture in my portfolio for art college' Jenny Gann

Earlier this session a group of S6 pupils studying art at Advanced Higher and Portfolio level accompanied Steve McQueen, visual artist and part-time art teacher at Hutchie on a one day printmaking workshop at the Glasgow Print Studio. Softground etching and aquatint techniques were used to generate a series of impressive prints.
I enjoyed exploring new ways of developing final outcomes which will form part of my portfolio for art school this year. The equipment at the Glasgow Print Studio is really professional and it was a great opportunity to work in that environment. Rosie Munro
