Pupils' Work Selected from Exam Entries
They’re still at school, but already their art is on public display at the National Gallery of Scotland!
From the more than 34,000 young Scots who sat SQA Art and Design examinations in 2007, just over 100 inspirational and imaginative exhibits were selected for inclusion in a special show called The A Exhibition at the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh. Five Hutchesons’ pupils are included in the cream of Scotland's young artists, all of whom got top marks in the 2007 exams.
According to Hutchesons’ Art teacher Will Emonds, who accompanied the pupils and their parents to a special opening, this is one of the high points in their school career. “The pupils’ work showcased at the National Gallery displays a high level of craft, skill and strong creativity,” he says. “It’s an excellent opportunity to display their work at national level.”
The A Exhibition, which opened on 24 October, runs until 4 January 2008.
