Pupils Behind the Lens

 Photography at Hutchesons'

Pupils demonstrated their prowess behind the lens at the 2nd Hutchesons' Photography Competition in December. With around 60 photos on display, the two judges deliberated for some time before selecting the following winners (left to right), whose photos will be enlarged and displayed in the school:

Alastair Ferrans [S4] - Landscape

Katie Fox [S5] - Portraiture (shown above)

Greg Barnard [S4] - My Environment

The judges were Alan Williams, who recently graduated in Photography from the Glasgow School of Art, and Steve McQueen, an art teacher at Hutchesons' and a photographer, whose work is frequently displayed in galleries. English teacher Cate Hamilton runs the Hutchesons' photography club and organised the competition along with Jamie Turner [S6].
