Pupil Wins National Prize for Enterprise

Stuart Dale Wins Young Scot Award

A Hutchesons' pupil has won the Young Scot Award 2008 for Enterprise, sponsored by Strathclyde Business School and was personally congratulated by First Minister Alex Salmond.

Stuart Dale, who is 16 and in S5 at Hutchesons', has made a big impact on Glasgow's club scene after unearthing an untapped market in under-18 nights. Along with partner James Clements, 15, he has a net profit of £5,500 a year although they're still at school.

Stuart, who is a DJ, and business partner James set up their own company, Presentable Productions, last year and now employ 12 teenagers to hand out flyers. As well as ploughing money back into the business, the boys donated £1,000 to help Angolan refugee rapper Levis Albano, 21, record an album.
