Hockey is Strong at Hutchesons'
After 11 years on the Scotland team and as the most capped player for Scotland, Hutchesons’ PE teacher Graham Dunlop has retired from international play.
Mr Dunlop played his first game for Scotland in July 1996, against Italy
"I've had more than more out of the sport and have been very fortunate to play at the highest level for both Scotland and Great Britain”, says Graham. “It was a privilege to play with so many great players over the years and it is my team-mates that I will miss. I will still be playing for my club Clydesdale each week and look forward to finding out what we can achieve in the next few years."
Ensuring that Hutchesons' is well represented at the international level, Andrew Scobie [S6] and Taranjodh Aulak (C2006) are in the Boys Under 18 training squad. Fiona Bruce [S5], Nicola Lowrey [S5], Morag McLellan [S6] and Rachel Malcolm [S5] have been selected for the 2008 Scotland Under 18 Girls training squad, coached by Rhona Simpson, Director of Hockey at Hutchesons'.
girls 1st XI Hockey team, captained by Morag McLellan, defeated the High School of Glasgow 1-0 in December to take the West District BP Cup. They have now qualified for the Scottish Finals in February 2008.
