Pupils and Staff Announce CHAS as 2008-2009 Charity

Staff literally geared themselves up to launch the 2008-2009 School Charity, as five of them took part in the Pedal for Scotland bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh on 14 September, raising funds for Children's Hospice Association Scotland in the process.

They weren't alone - among the other 6,000 riders were pupil Calum Ewing-Hepburn [S3] and his father Alasdair Hepburn (C1984), who also completed the 55-mile ride, raising funds for  Leukaemia Research.

To launch the charity, pupils invited Debbie Traynor, a representative from CHAS, to address them at three separate assemblies, during which they learned how the hospices help sick children and their families.
