The sun shone brightly on the pupils who won prizes in this year's annual prizegiving at Hutchesons', and on their friends and families, who enjoyed music from the Senior String Group. Rachel Dodds, Girls' Dux, showed that singing is just one of her many talents as she joined the String Group for Purcell's 'Music for a While'. Rector Dr Ken Greig acknowledged the contributions of many throughout the past session, and Alastair Denholm, outgoing Chair of the Board of Govenors, gave his final Prizegiving speech.

The Prizegiving address was given by the Very Rev John D Miller BA BD DD, the former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland who also spent 36 years with Castlemilk East Parish Church in Glasgow. He and his wife, Mary, who presented the prizes, recently returned from a period working in a mission hospital in Zimbabwe.
