Congratulations to Hutchesons' Under 15 Rugby squad, who beat last year's finalists, George Watson's, 10-7 in a thrilling semi-final of the Brewin Dolphin Under 15 Scottish Schools Cup on Saturday 23 January at Auldhouse. They will play Stewart's Melville College at Murrayfield on 11 February.
Watched by an extremely large crowd, Hutchesons' came back from an early converted try by Watson's to level the match at half time. The second half was an extremely tight and tense affair, with Hutchesons' scoring a penalty midway through.
"The remarkable scenes at full time will surely live with these young men for the rest of their lives," said Gordon White, one of the parents of a boy in the squad. "It's just reward for the commitment, effort and superb team work shown on the field. Well done to every member of the squad and the coaching staff for this remarkable achievement."
Marr College (H) 55-5
Bearsden/Douglas Academies (A) 29-5
Peebles High School (H) 17-5
