Three pupils at Hutchesons' raced to victory in the national finals of the British Schools' Karting Championship in March.
S5 pupils Kerr McEwen and David Wagner, along with S6 pupil Greg Barnard, won the Championship at Daytona Raceway in Milton Keynes, beating 34 other teams from across Britain and Ireland, the first win for a Scottish school in the history of the competition.
The Hutchesons' team won each of their qualifying rounds and then the Scottish schools' title at Knockhill, even attracting sponsorship from Macallans, the East Kilbride solicitors and estate agents.
It's good to win," said David Wagner, "especially having come all the way from Scotland. There was some very close racing, and the wet and greasy conditions were challenging for all the drivers."
