Trudi is a Global GE Star
A former Hutchesons' pupil has received a prestigious award for high-achieving students to help defray first-year higher education expenses. Trudi Davis, who left Hutchesons' following Highers in 2009 to spend her final year at South Portland High School in Maine, USA, was selected to receive a Global GE Star Award, sponsored by General Electric, her father's employer. The global winners were chosen by an independent body at the UN in New York.
Trudi's prize-winning application included an essay entitled "Where do you envisage yourself in the Year 2020?" She receives $3,500 and Hutchesons' $500 for sponsoring her application. She plans to study Accountancy and Economics at University next year.
