Hutchesons' to support Action for Children during the 2010-2011 session

Pupils and staff on the Hutchesons' Charity Committee have announced that Action for Children will be the school's designated charity for the 2010-2011 session.

The committee was joined by Carol McKinlay, the regional fundraising manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, at special assemblies for the primary and secondary pupils which introduced the charity to pupils and staff throughout the school.

Charitable fundraising is an integral and popular part of life at Hutchesons', according to Rector Dr Ken Greig. Each year pupils and staff nominate a single charity to benefit from the proceeds of its fundraising activities and pupils and staff are encouraged to devise different events throughout the year. "The pupils chose this very important project themselves", he said, "and they will really rise to the challenge of helping Action for Children."
