A show jumping team from Hutchesons' has come second in its first ever competition! Under the leadership of Primary 2 teacher Fiona Clarke, Anneliese Aitken [P3], Ava Meiklejohn [S1], Megan Martin [S1] and Elinor Grant [S2] took part in the Scottish Schools Show Jumping competition at Ingliston Equestrian Centre in October.

"This was our first competition together," said Mrs Clarke, "and the riders all did very well. The team was edged into a fantastic 2nd place by Stirling High School who won by only half a second!"

ShowjumpingElinor Grant and Ava Meiklejohn were placed individually in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Anneliese Aitken went on to compete individually in the next class and was 5th out of 33.

The Hutchesons' team has qualified for the National Schools Championship in December, which takes placce at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire.
