You Don't Need a Gun to Change the World!

The Lemonade Kid: November 2010This was the message presented by Primary 4 pupils in their production of 'The Lemonade Kid' by Peter Fardell, which they presented to the school and their parents on 3 November.

From saloon girls to gunslingers to gold diggers in the good old, bad old times in Dustville, the Kid changed their ways from killin' to swillin' armed only with his trusty bottle of lemonade!  Aided and abetted by Louisiana May and Louisiana Kay, the Kid drove One Eye Jack out of town using brains rather than brawn.

The Lemonade Kid: November 2010The cast of 72 brought the house down with their acting, dancing and singing.  Look out Broadway!

I felt scared doing the show because I had lots of lines to learn and I was embarrassed when we did the finale. (Alex, 'The Kid')

My favourite part was when One Eye Jack tried to shoot The Kid but what he pulled out of his holster was not what he expected. He pulled out a chicken leg instead of a gun! (Alexander, 'Hank')

I thought it was very funny when the Lemonade Kid, Louisiana May and Louisiana Kay beat One Eye Jack. It was funny because he got attacked by wasps, and we were the wasps! (Henry, 'Preacher')

My favourite part was when we auditioned. We were all nervous because we didn't know if we were good or not. When the parts were revealed not everyone was happy. On the night we put on a dazzling performance. (Sam, 'Gunslinger')
