- Teacher's Ironman challenge to combat human trafficking
Over the summer, Geography teacher Alan Stirling, completed a gruelling Ironman race to raise money and awareness for the A21 Campaign, a charity which combats Global human trafficking.

- Pupils win £3,000 for Hazelwood School
The Youth Philanthropy Initiative is a one-of-a-kind experience that engages young people in social change. The finals took place in the Fotheringay Centre on Wednesday 5 February. Team Hazelwood report.

- Bags of thanks!
We were absolutely delighted by the response to our foodbank appeal at the end of last term, the bags poured in and parents, pupils and staff donated a huge 200kg in groceries to the Glasgow SE foodbank.

Primary 1 teachers Fiona Clark and Heather Dempster organised a 'breaktime' coffee morning with home baking on Friday the 13th of December.

The Junior Choir go carolling at the St Enoch Centre in aid of the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, as Primary pupils and staff prepare for their own special performances.

- A big festive thank you!
The annual winter fair, held on the 30th of November by the 1957 Group, was a great success and raised an astonishing five and a half thousand pounds.

The final few weeks of December will pass happily for most of us in a whirl of School dances, plays and festive nights out, however, it is also the perfect time to help those in our community who are facing a bleaker end to the season.

- The gift that keeps on giving!
Give a present that will change someone's life this festive season! Mrs Robertson, of Hutchesons' PE department, has been working with charity Practical Action to create a special online gift list for the School fundraising campaign.

- Coffee morning raises £200 for MacMillan Cancer Support
The staff at Hutchesons' enjoyed a coffee break with a difference earlier this term as they relaxed with a good cuppa and some sweet treats in aid of a very good cause.

During the summer Hutchesons' was delighted to host a 'Play in a Day' for Whizz-Kidz, a charity that transforms the lives of disabled children with mobility equipment and opportunities to learn new skills.

The finals of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative took place in the Fotheringay Centre on Wednesday 27th March with a team from S3C winning the prize.

- High Commissioner for Malawi praises pupil power at Hutchie
The High Commissioner for Malawi, Mr Bernard Sande, visited Hutchesons' on the 21st of January and met pupils who are passionate about promoting education as a means to escape the poverty trap.

- Eco success is in the bag!
The recent RAG BAG collection has proven to be a great success. Pupils across the Primary brought in old clothes, shoes and linens from home to be counted, weighed and distributed at a fair price within developing countries.
