- Brave pupils compete in 'Muddy Trials'
On Sunday the 22nd of March, a group of second and third year pupils participated in the 'Muddy Trials' in Kilmarnock. The 5K run is said to be the most challenging mud run in the whole of the UK!

This March the School will be collecting a range of items for the ‘Trussell Trust Foodbank’ and ‘Chernobyl Children's Lifeline’.

S1 pupils participated in a charity scavenger hunt and baked delicious cakes to raise money for Michael's Movers.

- Charity Toy Sale raises £400!
P3 held a terrific toy sale for the School Charity Michael's Movers for Parkinsons. The event was supported by the whole primary and was a great success raising almost £400!

On 12th January 3 Senior pupils and 4 Primary pupils provided the entertainment at Michael’s Movers monthly Monday lunch club.

- Support the Big Dinner
Sit down to dinner, so that people in Africa can stand up and walk. The Scottish charity 500 miles, set up by quadruple amputee Olivia Giles, an inspirational Hutchie FP, aims to hold largest ever online dinner party.

The Cross Country Championships and Charity runs produced some very good team and individual performances and raised funds for Michael's Movers for Parkinson's.

- Sweet success for S5 charity Crêperie!
S5E had the delicious idea of running a lunchtime Crêperie in aid of our new School Charity Michael's Movers, which supports people with Parkinson's Disease and those who care for them.

- Teacher's Ironman challenge to combat human trafficking
Over the summer, Geography teacher Alan Stirling, completed a gruelling Ironman race to raise money and awareness for the A21 Campaign, a charity which combats Global human trafficking.

- Pupils win £3,000 for Hazelwood School
The Youth Philanthropy Initiative is a one-of-a-kind experience that engages young people in social change. The finals took place in the Fotheringay Centre on Wednesday 5 February. Team Hazelwood report.

- Bags of thanks!
We were absolutely delighted by the response to our foodbank appeal at the end of last term, the bags poured in and parents, pupils and staff donated a huge 200kg in groceries to the Glasgow SE foodbank.

Primary 1 teachers Fiona Clark and Heather Dempster organised a 'breaktime' coffee morning with home baking on Friday the 13th of December.

The Junior Choir go carolling at the St Enoch Centre in aid of the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, as Primary pupils and staff prepare for their own special performances.

The annual winter fair, held on the 30th of November by the 1957 Group, was a great success and raised an astonishing five and a half thousand pounds.
