Top physics award for former pupil
A recent former pupil of Hutchesons’ has achieved a top mark in the Advanced Higher Physics exam this year and has been presented with an award from the Institute of Physics for his achievement.

The Department of Biology at Hutchesons' once gain enjoyed the annual S2 trip to Edinburgh Zoo. Fortunately (and unually), the weather was very kind, which helped make the day so successful.

Medal Success in Physics Olympiad!
Three Hutchesons' pupils have been honoured with medals in the 2011 British Physics Olympiad, which attracts entries from the UK's top young physicists. Timothy Heelis received Gold and Scott Melville Silver. Hamza got a Bronze for his Practical Project.

Dame Ellen MacArthur selects Hutchesons' Pupils for Industry internship
Six pupils from Hutchesons' Grammar School have won the first of five week-long internships within a leading UK industry after winning the first Ellen MacArthur Foundation 'Project ReDesign' event.

Buzzing about on 'BeeDay'
BeeDay at Hutchesons' was the result of a conversation between two Heads of Department about the plight of the bumblebee and the potential problems for the planet's eco system if the bumblebee population continues to dwindle.

A first-year pupil at Hutchesons' lifted the top prize for the best Science Project in Scotland at the Big Bang Festival at Abertay University on 7 June.

Big Bang 2010 National Science and Engineering Competition
Hutchesons' has a long tradition of success in the national CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) competition and 2010 is no different. Six pupils all won prestigious prizes at the Manchester event.
