Hutchesons' honoured by national charity award
Staff and S5 and S6 pupils were delighted to attend the Action for Children Awards ceremony at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow today, as Hutchesons' Grammar School received the 2011 Stephenson Award for Lifelong Learning.

Mary's Meals announced as new school charity
The school will be supporting Mary’s Meals this session. The charity is an international movement providing school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.

On Saturday the 17 September the Kingarth Street Primary once again took part in the Glasgow wide Open Doors Day. The event proved a great success and over 150 enthusiastic visitors toured the school.

Can you help? Hosts wanted for visiting students this Autumn
Children from two very different parts of the world are hoping to visit Hutchesons' Grammar School later this year. The school would like to encourage this cultural exchange and would welcome any offers of accommodation.

Putting the fun into the Great Scottish Run!
Sunday the 4th September was a day of sunshine and smiles as pupils from Hutchesons’ took to the streets in support of the 2011 Great Scottish Run, saving an extra cheer for all those running to raise funds for Action for Children.

Pupils attend global forum on maternal mortality
This summer six senior pupils travelled to London to attend the Global Student Forum conference, Dying For Life, highlighting the causes and effects of maternal mortality worldwide.

Pupils at Hutchesons' have presented a cheque for £24,500 to Action for Children at special assemblies at the primary and secondary schools.

Glasgow Civic Reception rounds off Successful European Schools Partnership
Staff and pupils from Hutchesons' and two other European schools celebrated at a Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Provost of Glasgow after completing a two-year joint project based around urban design and renewal.

The Hutchesons' Open Swiss Pairs tournament took place at Hutchesons' on 6 March, as usual attracting many competitors, who spent a convivial afternoon in the School's Dining Room.
