Charlotte Hits The Right Note
A fourth-year pupil at Hutchesons’ has won a top singing award. Charlotte McKechnie was named female winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year 2007 on Saturday 27 October.

German Serenade
Hutchesons' has enjoyed a warm relationship with the Hans-Sachs-Gymnasium in Nuremberg, Germany, for many years, during which time pupils have spent time in each others' countries. This Autumn it was the turn of the German singers to visit Hutchesons'.

And They're Off
An amazing 940 Hutchesons’ pupils from Primary 7 to Secondary 6 donned running gear and slogged through the mud for the School’s annual Cross Country Championships at Nether Pollok in October.

Run Pupils Run
Hutchesons' primary pupils won three out of four races at the Scottish Schools Primary Road relays in Grangemouth on 27 October, the first time any school has performed so well.

Nina and the Neurons
Primary 3 pupils from Hutchesons' took part in the filming of an episode of Nina and the Neurons, a CBeebies programme to help pre-school children understand basic science.

Witness to War
June was a busy month for Bob Kutner. Between a holiday and one of his retirement occupations as a voluntary social worker, he visited the Hutchesons' History Department four times in one week to share his wartime adventures with S2 pupils.

And the pupils certainly did rock the capacity audiences during their five-night run. The Hutchesons’ production, which is only the second in Scotland, involved well over 100 pupils, on stage, in the band or behind the scenes.
