Hutchesons' honoured by national charity award
Staff and S5 and S6 pupils were delighted to attend the Action for Children Awards ceremony at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow today, as Hutchesons' Grammar School received the 2011 Stephenson Award for Lifelong Learning.

Barcelona trip for teamwork, culture and sport
Pupils at Hutchesons' have many opportunities to travel beyond the School while enjoying sport. Last weekend 51 pupils and 6 staff set off on an unforgettable trip to Barcelona to combine culture and sport.

Discounted past papers and revision guides at the Library
An ordering service for past papers will be available again this year.
Pupils can pick up an order form from the Library and there is a discount of discount of 20%. A selection of Bright Red publishing revision guides will also be available to purchase.

Gold medal recognition for Head of Maths
Mrs Fyfe of Hutchesons’ Mathematics Department has received a gold medal at the Royal Society, a fellowship of the world's most eminent scientists and the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.

Multi-coloured Elephants on parade!
On Wednesday the 21 September Kingarth Street became a sea of colour as the Primary One took part in a special Elmer parade, inspired by the story of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant a children's picture book by British author David McKee.

Kingarth Street takes part in Glasgow Open Doors Day
On Saturday the 17 September the Kingarth Street Primary once again took part in the Glasgow wide Open Doors Day. The event proved a great success and over 150 enthusiastic visitors toured the school.

Mary's Meals announced as new school charity
The school will be supporting Mary’s Meals this session. The charity is an international movement providing school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.

Can you help? Hosts wanted for visiting students this Autumn
Children from two very different parts of the world are hoping to visit Hutchesons' Grammar School later this year.

Class of 1986 Reunion
On 10 September this year over 50 former pupils travelled from London, Bolton, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Inverness, Wales and New York to take a trip down memory lane at the 1986 class reunion.
